The refòsc dal pecol rós (the "pecòl" is the stalk of the grape which, when ripe, turns red in this refosco) is a prized and highly significant variety for Friuli, and for the Colli Orientali in particular, of which it is an autochthonous with earned pedigree over the centuries.There are numerous varieties that decline it: refosco di Faedis, refoscone up to terrano del Carso and refosco d'Istria (with a green peduncle).Respecting its territorial history, we take care of it in the vineyard and in the cellar to give rise to a wine that the right time makes open to bring harmonious notes and minerality into the glass, thus overcoming its being ruspiôs (grumpy, in Friulian) and fully accepting its undoubted potential.

THE VINIFICATION
After crushing and destemming, the alcoholic fermentation starts which lasts for 15/20 days at 25/27°C with punching down and daily pumping over to favor maceration of the skins, extracting color and aromas. Racking after about a month from the collection. Malolactic fermentation. After 18 months it goes into the bottle where it remains for a few months before being marketed
THE TASTE
A warm garnet red appears to the eye. The nose is intensely vinous, friendly and persistent with fragrant aromas of black currant and cherry, then distant echoes of rose petals emerge. On the palate it has a supple body, with rounded tannins. It is appetizing and fresh, so much so that it immediately calls for a subsequent taste.
