PINOT GRIGIO

PINOT GRIGIO

DOC Friuli Colli Orientali

The Pinot family is the progenitor in the history of the domestic vine in Europe, son of that aristocratic pinot noir which is among the most significant grapes for the great continental wines. It arrived in Friuli, from Burgundy, during the last years of the 19th century to serve the vineyards of the Habsburg Empire. Its grapes acclimatised well becoming a new territorial generation.

In the last thirty years, Pinot Grigio has been the victim of a boom on the international market, losing its glamor and attractiveness. In our opinion it is a historical variety that deserves attention and respect. Our Pinot Grigio is born from this riverbed, with a light golden yellow color on a coppery transparency, its distinctive note. Graceful and elegant wine. This is how we try to bring out the character that this singular grape deserves to express.

THE TASTE
Its color varies from a light golden yellow to a coppery transparency, depending on the interpretation of the vintage. The nose is well expressed and personal with fruity hints in which the classic Kaiser pear is queen accompanied by hints of lemon peel and light dried fruit. In the mouth it welcomes a pleasant citrus note. At the end, a very slight buttery accent almost of style biscuits digestive. This Pinot Grigio expresses great sapidity and has the ability to give beautiful energy.
